Here is a set of 4 worksheets where children read the sentences and work out the missing words. They can use the pictures to help them and the key words across the top of the pages. Children write in the missing words and also write them out in the boxes provided. Children highlight or colour in the pictures as they work out the relevant ones. Each worksheet has the same pictures to choose from but 4 different word answers to choose from. The final page - sheet 5 is a worked example.

There are 12 colour pictures of children and 12 sentences to write. e.g. Tom is shown with his pet hamsters. The question asks what are Tom’s favourite pets? 3 worksheets, each showing a collection of pictures - transport, animals and vegetables. Children write their lists, crossing out the initial sounds of each word as they go on the alphabet grid. The first word is done for them on each sheet. They then write a sentence such as comparing 2 vegetables, or their favourite type of transport.
